Kid Friendly Recipes main course & sides

Taco Salad in a Bag

When I can’t get my act together in the morning, my go-to lunch for my boys is PB & J.  They love PB &J but I know that it gets old.  In the past years, I have even had subtle hints with lunch suggestions from my son like “I would really like that for lunch.”   This weekend I will be sharing with you 10 Sandwich-Less Lunch Ideas that your child will love but if you can’t wait go here to the Celebrating Fall Issue where this article was featured.

Here’s the first Sandwich-Less Lunch Idea that we have been enjoying on our picnics over the summer and will definitely be making it for my sons lunch.

Taco Salad in a Bag

  • Left over cooked ground beef
  • Bag of chips
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Sour Cream
  • Shredded Cheese

If you haven’t made this before let your child know that everything in the containers gets dumped in the chip bag and they can eat it with a fork. Simple enough!

Place the ingredients in small containers and pack it up with a bag of chips.

You can also add beans, corn, salsa….
