Simple Dinner: Italian Pizza Pie

italian pizza pie

Are you a pizza lover? If so you’re going to love this Italian Pizza Pie recipe. I love to make homemade pizza so when I first saw this over at Lindsay’s blog, Normal Cooking, I knew I could transform it into a healthier option for our family. I used Quinoa pizza dough and we made our own sauce.

It’s amazingly delicious and super easy.

If you’re not making your own pizza dough or crust it will take you less than 15 minutes to put together.

Italian Pizza Pie

Ingredients:
1 12-ounce can large crescent roll dough
1 pound Italian sausage, cooked and drained
2 cups shredded mozzarella
3/4 cup ricotta cheese
1 cup marinara sauce
1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

10 slices of pepperoni

1. Spread the pizza dough in a lightly sprayed pie dish and bake for 10 minutes.

2. Now add your layers: sausage, some of the mozzarella, pepperoni, ricotta, italian seasoning and then dump the marinara all over everything making sure to cover the other ingredients in the sauce. Add the rest of the mozzarella to the top.

3. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes.
