LEGO Valentine’s Day Party Favor

Lego valentines

The other day I asked my son who was going to be his valentine and he responds with, “You.”  Melt my heart, I have no idea how long this thinking will last but I am sure enjoying it to the fullest while I can.

These are yummy and easy to make.  There are healthier options out there for making your own gummies but we went with the Jello and gelatin recipe.

You’ll need to make a simple tag that says, “We were built to be friends.” or something to that effect.

This is definitely an activity the kids can  help you with but there are stove-top steps so use your judgement on what you feel comfortable having your child help you out with.

Ingredients:

2 gelatin packets

2 jello box 3oz

2/3 cup hot water

1. In a medium sauce pan pour water and then add the gelatin and jello.

2. Let it sit for about 8 minutes.

3. Place saucepan over low to medium heat and stir the mix until you don’t clumps and it’s dissolved. This will take about 3-5 minutes.  Make sure you stir so it doesn’t scorch.

4. Place the slightly cooled mixture in a container with a spout and begin filling your molds.  I used silicone molds because they bend easily which makes it easy to get them out. You don’t need to grease the molds and you can use plastic molds too.

Note, I placed mine in a baggie for over a week and they started to mold.  They might not last that long in your house but just in case they do you should refrigerate them in a container.
