Chocolate Almond Raspberry Smoothie

chocolate almond raspberry smoothie

I’m on a chocolate almond raspberry kick right now! I just can’t seem to get enough of it and every morning I have one of these smoothies. Sometimes I add spinach but not always. After a workout, I add protein powder to it.

I drink these high protein smoothies for breakfast or as a snack in the middle of the day and my favorite as a dessert when I’m craving something sweet.  There’s protein in the coconut milk so the protein powder is an extra. Protein is necessary for maintaining healthy tissues, such as your muscles, skin and bones so make sure you have enough of it in your day. When I make some for my kids I leave the protein powder out.

Chocolate Almond Raspberry Smoothie

  • 1 cup coconut water or milk or almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 cup raspberries
  • 2 tablespoons cacoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon stevia
  • 4 pieces of ice
  • a handful of spinach
  • 2 tablespoons protein powder (preferably chocolate)

Place all of the above ingredients in a blender.

Enjoy!
