Let the Baby in the Manger Remind Us–He is the God Who Sees

He is the God Who Sees
Today as I spent time with God I was writing down everything I learned about God’s character and everything I learned about Mary and Zechariah in their songs from Luke 1.

I made two columns with bullet points so I can easily glance over them.
When I was done what stood out to me from the “God” column was how many times these 2 songs alluded to God being:
“Our God who sees.”
“Our God who keeps His promises.”
“Our God who remembers”. Luke 1:48, 50, 54, 55, 65, 72, and pretty much all of Zechariah’s song.

Which reminded me of my psychology classes in college that regularly mentioned one of our deepest human needs is to be known, valued, and seen.

As women sometimes we don’t feel valued, seen or appreciated. Instead we feel lonely, undervalued, overlooked and overwhelmed.

In the midst of the busyness of this Christmas season, stop for a moment, and let these words echo in your heart–

He is the God who sees!

The God Who Sees Me

Sometimes this is hard to remember in the midst of the heart wrenching circumstances or confusing times but don’t let your feelings make you doubt what you know in the depths of your heart to be true.
Never doubt in the dark what God has shown you in the light.

Early on in Genesis Hagar gives God this name–“You are the God who sees me.” Genesis 16:13 This God is our Heavenly Father, our Abba we get to talk and connect with throughout our day.

Let the baby in the manger reminds us that He is the God who sees me. God has not forgotten His people, He keeps His promises, and He is the God of hope!

Today no matter where you find yourself let these words fill your heart with truth and hope–He has not forgotten you.
You are known.
You are seen.
You are precious in God’s sight. (Isaiah 43:1-4)
