Get Your Mama Bear On! Fight For Your Kids Through Prayer with these 8 Scriptures

I will share with you 8 scriptures you can pray for your children throughout this month. Below is the first one you can pray no matter what age or stage of life your child is in.

My son was on the playground just doing his own thing. Early on I had learned to watch him closely because he is our sensitive little guy and some how he always gives out a scent to bullies because they can spot him a mile away.

I always have my “mama bear” game on when we were out in areas with tons of kids we didn’t know. That particular morning this cute little guy with denim overalls with a striped cotton shirt and matching shoes was walking over to my son. He didn’t seem aggressive so I continued doing my thing but kept an eye on them.

Next thing I know little overalls guy pushes my son down and grabs his Thomas the train from him and takes off running.

Oh no, he didn’t!

I walked over to my son who had tears rolling down his chubby little cheeks. I had my “mama bear” eye on this little overalls “bully” as I perused the playground looking for his mama so I can give her a little tip or two.

This is what I want you to do moms! I know many of you can relate to this scenario in one way or another.  You see we get our mama bear on when our kids are in danger. It’s a beautiful thing we have been given by God.

Fight For Your Kids Through Prayer with these 8 Scriptures

He makes us brave!

Let’s get our mama bear on!

But I’m not talking about fighting with the playground mom whose kid just stole your child’s toy, nor the teacher who just gave your son a C on his science experiment after he’s worked on it for days, nor the neighbor’s kid who one day is your child’s friend and the next day is talking about her.

I’m talking about taking our worries to the one who can change things, let’s take our heart’s desires for our children to the one who knows how many hairs are on my child’s head. Let’s take our words to the one who hears us and is for us, not against us. Let’s take our mama bear on our knees pleading to our Heavenly Father on behalf of our child.

Here’s a lifetime prayer you can go to the Lord with no matter what age or stage of life your child is in. (fill in the blanks with your child’s name)

I pray that out of God’s glorious riches He may strengthen ____ with power through His spirit in ___ inner being, so that Christ may dwell in ___ heart through faith.
And I pray that ____, may be rooted and established in love,
and have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people,
to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,
and to know God’s love that surpasses knowledge–
that ___ may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

In His name, Amen”. ~(Ephesians 3: 16-19)

He Makes Us Brave on Our Knees!

Mom’s we have an enemy and he’s for real! But listen closely, we have nothing to fear! God is for us who can go against us. Romans 8:31

The enemy is not in charge; Jesus is.
My child’s diagnosis is not in charge, God does.
The bully kid is not in charge; God is.
The grumpy teacher is not in charge; Jesus is.
Sin will not overcome, God does.
My child’s sickness is not in charge; Jesus is.
My child’s choices do not define Him, your love does!
Love does!

Whether your child is 3 years old or 30 years old let us remember that temptation, sin, or doubt doesn’t discriminate not even if your child has grown up in the church their whole life. The enemy is tempting them in every way imaginable to doubt God’s truth and His love.

Prayer takes problems out of the domain of the devil and into the presence of God. Prayer confesses, “God can handle IT. Since He can, I have hope!”
When we pray in the name of Jesus, we come to God on the basis of Jesus’ accomplishment.

Since we have a great high priest [Jesus] over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith. — Hebrews 10:21–22

As our high priest, Jesus offers our prayers to God. His prayers are always heard.” ~ via M. Lucado “Before You Say Amen”
