If we want to know how valuable we are to God, Isaiah is a very good place in the bible to get a good idea.
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are MINE.”
– Isaiah 43:1
God is possesive towards us, and it’s very apparent. Not only does He claim us as His,
He knows us specifically by name. Before we even acknowledge Him, He is already blessing us.
“For the sake of Jacob my servant, of Israel my chosen, I summon you by name and bestow on you a title of honor,
though you do not acknowledge me.”
– Isaiah 45:4
We are truly valuable to Him. We are His creation, every single one of us, just as we are. Even when we think we are undeserving,
have an ugly past, or a poor opinion of ourselves, God is happy with us. We are His pride and joy and nothing will ever change that.
God is so immensely great, and we are just a small component of His creation. Does that make us chess pieces to be controlled and manipulated?
No! Our relationship with God is that of father and child. We carry His image, and we are called and summoned by Him. It means that we have a choice to respond to Him. When we choose to, we realise that God is more than happy to share His secrets of His kingdom with us.
