I used to teach preschool and one of the subjects my kids LOVED was science because it was so interactive! I strongly believe in teaching kids the appropriate terms for things but explaining it to them at their level. When we talked about the Scientific Method I shared with them the term hypothesis but of course explaining it at their level. By the end of the year, they knew exactly what a hypothesis was.
Below I am sharing some fun and easy science experiments for kids that you can do with pumpkins! Oh, and don’t underestimate the power of science experiments at a party! The kids love it!!!
This was a favorite science experiment that I used to do every year with the kids, Do Pumpkins Sink or Float? You can get all the details and free printables here:
This rotting pumpkin science experiment was very interesting. Check it out at My Science Project to find out how to best preserve your pumpkin.
And this one was from our Heart for Home Linky Party! Erupting Pumpkin via Little Bins for Little Hands
Have you ever made Elephant Toothpaste? Well Steve Spangler has it oozing out of a pumpkin for a fun Halloween effect. This Elephant Toothpaste recipe at Preschool Powol Packets has more ingredients you can find around the house.
