Last year, we made our own stocking stuffers. My hope was to encourage our children to use their skills and creativity to make a gift for their sibling. It quickly turned into our whole family making homemade gifts for one another.
My husband decided to make DIY Marshmallow Shooters for each one of our boys. I think they turned out great! When my hubbie makes things he doesn’t understand when I say, “I want to blog about it so call me so I can take pictures of the process.” So he calls me at the end when it’s made, lol.
They were actually really easy to make from what I can gather. Since then, we have played marshmallow gun wars with the kids and they have used it to play with friends. It’s not their number one toy to play with but they do play with it. It was a stocking stuffer and it didn’t cost much so I’d say it was worth the effot.
DIY Marshmallow Shooter
Here’s what you’ll need:
- t-connectors
- pvc pipe
- saw to cut the pipe
- pvc cement or strong glue
- optional: duct tape
Basically you take your pvc pipe and cut it the lengths that you want your gun, so approximately 12 in and 5 inches and 2 inches. Then you use your connectors to put the gun together and glue it. We didn’t feel like we needed end caps so we left it out.
You can use the duct tape to decorate it.
You can go to the Domestic Fringe blog she has instructions on how to make it, here’s her great visual.
