My son woke up this morning and jumped into my bed and with a big grin and said, "Guess what, it's my birthday." I rolled over in a groggy state of mind and in my smoker (I don't smoke) morning voice, I replied, "It's your birthday party not your birthday we already celebrated that last week. So, happy birthday party day to you." I hated to burst his bubble but this can be so confusing for kids so I wanted to correct him because last week was the day of his birthday breakfast celebration ... continue reading...

Making My Tweens Birthday Special
I was caught off guard when my tween son told me he didn't want a party this year. To be honest it was a bit painful. In the past, he plans his party, months and months in advance. I've thrown him a birthday party from his 1st year of life, so I didn't know what to do myself when he said he didn't want one. So, how does one deal with this, when it happens? Well, I can tell you how I dealt with it. First, I went and cried--WHAT he doesn't want a party. Then I cried some more as I was ... continue reading...
Lego Party: Ninjago Theme

I just worked on ... continue reading...

One for my class and one for my party." Let me just set the record straight I refuse to do two birthday cakes for them. ... continue reading...

I realize that some kids are introverted, and the thought of being the center of attention, and having lots of kids around them is not in any shape or form considered fun. Also, add to that the cost and time in throwing a party, it can get expensive. My mother always found ways to make us feel special without having to throw a party. She wasn't a baker but on our birthdays she would whip out her Betty Crocker apron and make us our very own cake. ... continue reading...
