dessert Kid Friendly Recipes

Robin’s Egg Nest Treats

I pretty much follow the recipe for scotcharoos but don’t use butterscotch morsels and use chocolate rice krispies for a “nest look”.

Robin’s Egg Nest Treats

1 cup light corn syrup

1 cup sugar

1 cup peanut butter

6 cups Cocoa Rice Krispies

Robin Eggs or Jelly Beans

Chocolate for melting

Place corn syrup and sugar into 3-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until sugar dissolves and mixture begins to boil. Remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter. Mix well. Add KELLOGG’S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir until well coated. Press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Set aside.

2.  Let them cool for about 5min.  Before they harden stick a spoon full into muffin pan that has been greased with cooking spray. and hollow out the middle with your finger.

3. Melt some chocolate in a small bowl and apply on the inside of the nest and put your robin eggs or jelly beans inside. 4. let cool and serve.
I place mine on a cupcake tier for a tree effect.
