You might be wondering what exactly is Café au lait. It’s French for “coffee with milk” and basically it’s a French coffee drink.
Doesn’t this picture make you just want to get in your pajamas and snuggle up by a fire with a good book? I love hot drinks but I am not a big fan of coffee. I usually tell people that I am a social drinker when it comes to coffee. But this café au lait has very little coffee in it and it has lots of other yummy stuff in it, so in my book it’s a winner coffee recipe!
It screams Fall with ingredients like pumpkin, toffee… Enjoy!
Pumpkin Toffee Café Au Lait
Ingredients:
- 2/3 cup of Milk
- 1/4 cup Toffee bits
- 2 Tbl Sugar
- 1/3 cp Coffee
- 2 Tbl Pumpkin Puree
- 1/8 tsp Pumpkin Pie spice
- 3 drops of vanilla
1. Heat milk, toffee bits and sugar until the bits are dissolved and remove from heat. Make sure it doesn’t boil and keep stirring it so it doesn’t burn.
2. Add the remaining ingredients to the toffee mixture.
Top with whip cream and more toffee bits.
For a quick version heat the milk in the microwave and use caramel syrup instead.
