I had no idea when I was making this Barnyard & Farm Animals Pretend Play craft, that it would be a HUGE hit.
My little one slept with his barnyard pretty much every night for a week. Took it to preschool to show it to his friends. Takes it with him when we go to church and other outings. He loves this toy and it pretty much took me 20 minutes to put together with him and cost me NOTHING because it was all recycled items I found in our house.
I especially love that this craft is so versatile, you can use it for a farm animal party activity, preschool class, sunday school craft or just at home with the kids.

Barn Yard & Farm Animals Craft {TP Tubes Craft}
See I told you it was super easy, right. I used the box to make the barn and I used the toilet paper tubes to make the farm animals.
How to make the Barn Yard from recycled boxes.
I freehand drew the barn on some red foam paper. You can use construction paper but I’m glad I didn’t because the construction paper would not have lasted more than a couple of days. Then I cut it out and simply glued it on. I really think the window in the barnyard is why my son LOVES his barnyard. I’ll tell you why–because he uses it as a handle to carry around and he stuffs all of his farm animals inside. So if your little one likes carrying things around make sure to cutout a window big enough for his little hands to fit through. Also, cutout a place inside for the animals to be stored.

I simply cut out the toilet paper tube in half and covered it in construction paper. I used:
pink for the pig
White for the cow and chicken
Brown for the horse and dog
Yellow for the duck
They’ll enjoy countless hours of Barn Yard & Farm Animal pretend play and other activities that I share below.
We’ve done lots of activities with this barnyard and farm animals. My son has enjoyed countless hours of free play with his craft but we’ve also enjoyed Farm Animal Bowling and that was a hoot. I originally made it for our Farm Animal Spanish Lesson, which I’ll have to share with you all soon.
Enjoy!
