With Summer upon us, we moms are planning the details of Summer vacations. The balance between keeping the kids happy and taking too much can be difficult. (Do you like my thinking face?)
I found this idea on Pinterest and decided to try it.
The kids were involved in every step of this project. They helped me pick out unstained, coordinating pillowcases from Goodwill and my 9 year old helped with the pinning and the sewing.
The pillowcases were 99 cents a piece so without the pillows, the beds cost $4.00 a piece.
Some of the pillows were a little longer than others so I turned the longer one inside out, measured the longer against the shorter, pinned the longer one, and hemmed.
Then I sewed the sides of the pillowcases together in the pattern the kids chose being careful to keep the seams on the same side of the bed.
The kids love these because they’re so comfy. They’re portable too. Without pillows, they can fold up and be placed into a suitcase or you can lay them in the back of your minivan (because everybody has a minivan, right) under the suitcases.
