I am in awe by how often we see Jesus reach out and touch the sinner, the sick, and the unwanted. I'm reminded of a fabulous show called "Jesus" that I watched several years ago. There's this powerful scene when Peter begins drowning and he calls out for Jesus. As I watched this scene unfold I got chills as it so clearly echoed our need for our Savior. I love that there are so many accounts recorded in the Bible of Jesus reaching out with His gentle touch and healing our brokenness, ... continue reading...
Mama, Are Your Weeds Keeping Your Family From Flourishing?
I almost hit publish on this image one night but I decided to wait because I couldn't figure out how to schedule it. Little did I know what was going to take place in the wee hours of the evening. In the middle of the night, the thought that woke me up was--I need to confess and surrender. This was from the Lord because you see love, laughter, prayer, truth, and grace does fill our home. Not perfectly but it does. The Weeds In Our Garden Not Only Harm Us But Also Those Around ... continue reading...
Power of Prayer: We Do Not Pray to Control the Outcome
I was on my daily walk and I found myself praying to God concerning a particular situation. As I prayed, I kept thinking things like, "Oh, I should add that, and I probably shouldn't say this..." Let me show you what God's word says. Many of us are familiar with the passage in the Bible that talks about putting on the armor of God. Often when people teach on the armor of God it ends at verse 17 with "the sword of Spirit, which is the word of God,". But if you notice the verse doesn't end there it continues. It ... continue reading...
Valentine’s Day Treat for Neighbors
I often have people tell me how they wished they had more time to lead a Bible study or reach out to others. What I usually respond with is reminding them that God uses us right here where He has placed us. Maybe one day it will be leading a Bible study but we don't have to wait for that "one day" because God can use us exactly where He has placed us, reaching the women, co-workers, little people, neighbors, strangers that cross our paths. I don't know where God has placed you but what ... continue reading...
