I was caught off guard when my tween son told me he didn't want a party this year. To be honest it was a bit painful. In the past, he plans his party, months and months in advance. I've thrown him a birthday party from his 1st year of life, so I didn't know what to do myself when he said he didn't want one. So, how does one deal with this, when it happens? Well, I can tell you how I dealt with it. First, I went and cried--WHAT he doesn't want a party. Then I cried some more as I was ... continue reading...
Conflict Resolution: The One Thing Kids Should Remember

But I'm happy to report that it wasn't and it was actually fun. I'm glad we tried and we'll definitely make it again. Our kids LOVED it and ate it. Well, today was the ... continue reading...
Preschool Activity: Sticky Rainbow Collage
It's been raining on and off in our neck of the woods. So, today we made a rainbow collage, fluffy white clouds and lots of raindrops. My son loved that it was more of a scene than just an activity. Last night we practiced saying greetings in Swahili. My toddler already knows his colors in English so we practiced the ... continue reading...
