A One of a Kind Children’s Christmas Book Story & Owl Ornament

December 1, 2017 by Inspired by Family Mag

I love this great little Christmas Books for kids! Below I share our Owl ornament to go with our cute book! One of the things we enjoy doing as a family is going on walks in our neighborhood. When it's winter we usually go before dinner because after dinner it's too dark and cold. So on our last walk we collected pine cones. My boys love collecting things on our walks. I usually don't let them bring their collections home but since I had this project, to their surprise we kept them. This … [Read more...]

Christmas Nativity Craft Stick Ornament

December 15, 2015 by Inspired by Family Mag

My Christmas Tree was missing a nativity ornament. We've made a few nativity type of crafts in the past but not an ornament.  Last year, I made toilet paper tube nativity that turned out great and it has made it through lots of little hands.  Oh, and my kids did make a really cute manger ornament that you can find here. Again as with all of the other ornaments this nativity can be made in 10 minutes and it's kid friendly. Join me throughout the week for our 7 Days of Homemade Christmas … [Read more...]

Easy Christmas Wreath: Santa Ho! Ho! Ho!

December 3, 2014 by Inspired by Family Mag

One of the things I learned from growing up with little money is how to make things look good on the cheap.  I hate spending money on wreaths so one year I made this Mod Square Wreath . Last years, was easy to make but the tissue paper took some time to glue.  This one below took me under 10 minutes to put together and I think it will survive … [Read more...]

December 11, 2012 by Inspired by Family Mag

Here's another DIY stocking stuffer idea: Mini Snow Globe. Aren't snow globe magical!  I am going to help my son make a snow globe for his brother. Last year, my 5 year old son dropped his snow globe I bought him and his older brother was much more careful and still had his.  When his older brother saw him so sad about it he said "you can have mine so you can be  happy."  Touched my heart. Well, that one didn't last because my 5  year old also dropped the one his brother gave him. I felt bad … [Read more...]

Home Decor: Frosted Bottles Using Salt

December 3, 2012 by Inspired by Family Mag

frosted bottles using salt

I am really loving spray paint these days and all the fun projects I have recycled! Frosted Bottles is my latest project. Who knew salt would be the perfect home decor craft supply for the holidays.  I didn't spend any money on this because I had all of the material on hand.  This is going on our dining room mantle. Actually, I can't decide if I want it on the mantle or as a center piece for our dinner table. It was really easy but just make sure you use good glue otherwise your salt will keep … [Read more...]
