Coconut Cucumber Lime Shake

I’ve been on a shake kick for months now. I’ve been drinking: protein shakes, detox shakes, fruity & delicious shakes…  I’ve always liked shakes but little did I know that they could actually be good for you not just low fat.  This

Coconut Cucumber Lime Protein

is exactly that– healthy, refreshing and energizing for me.

coconut lime cilantro drink

I saw a version of this drink over at Trish’s blog, Mom On Time Out.  I have always enjoyed Trish, she was one of the first bloggers who seemed open to sharing her knowledge with me (a newbie blogger). She is a very successful blogger and one of the things that has stood out to me about her is how down to earth she is, never acting like she’s “too good” for little bloggers, like me.  Anyways, she’s cool, so stop by her blog– it’s awesome.

I’ve been making a detox drink similar to this but without the cilantro and I added avocado and cucumber to mine.  I was curious about the combination so I wasn’t too hesitant to try a cucumber cilantro drink.  Let me tell you, it’s amazing.  I love it! It’s not really sweet but it’s absolutely refreshing. I guess you could make it sweet by adding sugar.

So here’s my recipe for my refreshing protein drink

Coconut Cucumber Lime Shake

1 cup Coconut Water

1/2 small Cucumber peeled

juice of 1 Lime

1/3 cup of Cilantro

1 tablespoon of Vanilla protein

Ice (optional)

Directions:

1. Place all of the above ingredients in a blender. You can either add ice to the blended mix or just leave out.

I drink my shakes as a mid morning snack since I’m trying to do a better job at eating every three hours.  That is eating healthy small snacks every three hours because I’m sure eating junk every three hours would not be hard to remember.

Enjoy!
