Food has always brought our familia together, for as long as I can remember. When I was a child, out of all our little neighborhood friends–our familia, was the only one that had a family sit down meal at dinner. It’s sad but true. I remember our friends always making sure they came over an hour before our dinner time just so that they could have a hot meal, with a family. After dinner my dad always gave our friends the option to leave or stay and join us for our family devotional time. Believe it or not, my brothers “gangster” friends always chose to say for the whole thing. All of our friends that “happened” to be over our house around dinner always chose to stay for our devotional.
Now, I have the joy of bringing our family and friends together over a meal. Or sometimes it’s just creating memories with my boys by cooking and baking with them. They love it, though sometimes it’s definitely more work for me, I enjoy the memories we are making together. At the end of my post I share our Cooking with Kids video, so check it out.
We enjoyed a beautiful day by making some Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Bites together for our outdoor picnic, they are also great for a family cookout!
My second born loves soccer so everywhere we go he brings his soccer ball we’ve had to make a rule about him bringing it to dinner but since we were having a picnic outside I made an exception.
These Macaroni and Cheese Bites were perfect for our outdoor picnic. They just grabbed them with their fingers and had at it. And add some Capri Sun drinks to it and you’re kids will be jumping off the wall with excitement. At least mine will, because we are water drinkers in our casa but every now and then we give them special juice treats.
Can you tell who had one too many mac and cheese bites on our picnic?
They are also pretty enough as appetizers for your party or “campeonato” gathering!

Pop them out and enjoy cold or warm. My kids preferred them cold.
Here’s my very first cooking with kids video so don’t be too critical.
