Halloween Food: Mummy Pizza

Halloween Food: Mummy Pizza

mummy lunch

Have you read the book Where’s My Mummy? by Carolyn Crimi?  It’s a fun little book about a mummy who can’t find his mama mummy.  We read it as we started our M is for Monsters (& Mummies) week!  We’ve also been studying Egypt with my older boys who’ve been fascinated by the mummies.

So this fun lunch was perfect to wrap it all up!  I actually call this type of pizza a “Tortizza.”  When I was in college there was a little cafe that served tortizza’s it was two worlds colliding in one bite–Italy and Mexico!  It was really inexpensive so I ate their a lot.  Since I was in college it never dawned on me how easy it would be to make my own.  So here’s our version of Tortizza’s with a Halloween twist.

Halloween Food: Mummy Pizza

ingredients:

  • tortilla
  • mozzarella cheese
  • pizza sauce
  • pepperoni
  • olives

1. Warm up tortilla on griddle and add pizza sauce then add the pepperoni.

2. Fold the ends over so you don’t’ waste any of the tortilla.

3. Place your cheese strips over the tortilla and let it melt.

4. Top it with 2 olive slices for the eyes.

Enjoy!
