My little man had so much fun with this firefighter activity. You can find all of our Firemen activities here we did a lot with this unit since this was his favorite community helper. It was simple and absolutely adorable. He was able to work on the following with this activity:
- fine motor skills -when he added the beads.
- number recognition- he practiced his numbers as we sang the poem
- literacy as we pointed out the words that rhymed.

- beads

Place your firetruck picture at the top of the “abacus” and place all the beads below it.

Share the whole poem and move your beads (firemen) down the pole as you recite it.
You can just make one for you to use when you share this poem at circle time or you can have each child make their own. It’s a easy and fun craft so I highly recommend you have them make their own to practice at home. Print out the poem and use the fire truck at the top of the poem to tape or glue onto their abacus.
