Halloween Fun Food – Silly Pumpkin Snack

silly mandarin pumpkins

I have been making Mandarin pumpkins for our Halloween parties for over 7 years now! They are a hit and easy to make not to mention–healthy. Usually I just fill a huge vase with the mandarins and use it as decor for our party table and the kids get to grab one when they are needing a snack before the actual food is served.

You can have so much fun with mandarins.  We used some optional props this year for our silly pumpkins.  These are so fun and goofy!

We are working on orange, circle and the letter P this week for preschool so we’ll be enjoying this snack for our preschool time. To get his creative juices going, I’m going to let him decorate it however he wishes.  This would make an inexpensive and healthy class snack for fall or Halloween.

You’ll need:

  • mandarins or oranges
  • permanent marker
  • construction paper, googly eyes
  • glue

Note: Use permanent markers otherwise your work will smear and get all over their little hands.  If you have really little ones, don’t use googly eyes or other small items that they might want to chomp on.
