Craft Stick Ornament: Christmas Carolers

christmas carolers craft

You want to get some quality time with your kids this busy Christmas season, craft with them.  Seriously, your creations don’t have to turn out amazing. I’ve had quite a few of those experiences and it’s okay.  I have boys and when we are doing something together it’s when they open up and talk to me.  It’s usually not when I sit down with them and want to have a conversation it’s almost always when we are doing some kind of activity together.

I’ve been squeezing in some Christmas crafting with the kids in between the down times I’ve had throughout the past week. Thankfully, they are still not against crafting my oldest who is 11 years old is fine with doing some crafting but he quickly gets disinterested so I’m not sure how long this will last.

For years I’ve wanted to make some toilet paper tube carolers but just never got around to doing it. But these craft stick Christmas carolers was even better because I was able to whip them up in 5 minutes and they turned out so cute!

You can totally make this with your kids. My preschooler had a lesson on C is for Caroling! We went caroling last night so it was fun to make this with him.  I just traced with a permanent marker the shapes I needed onto the felt and he cut them out and I helped him clothe his caroler.

It also makes a fun and easy Christmas party craft for kids. I’ll be posting one each day this week so make sure to stop by or follow along via your favorite social network so you don’t miss any of our fun :Pinterest Facebook or Twitter and our readers preferred way via email.

1. Cut your craft stick in half unless you had a mini craft stick and glue your circle to one end.

2. Then using a permanent marker make the face and add the hat using the felt.

3. Then wrap the brown felt or whatever color you use around the body of the stick.

4.  Make a scarf with another color of felt and glue it around the neck.

Finally, fold your small piece of colored paper into a carolers sheet of music notebook.

It took me 5 minutes to make each one and I absolutely love them!
