The Wheels on the bus go round and round…. I bet you have some of your own versions added to this all time favorite. I have heard this song played over and over again ever since my kids received their new toy, the Learning Bus. It has other songs like the ABCs, Rockin bus but this one is a favorite in our house probably because I get really silly when I sing it.
School Bus Fun: Snack, Activity and Book perfect for your school bus theme or Letter B fun and not to mention a cool back to school snack the kids can help you make.
Snack: Here’s a quick creative Back to School treat that doesn’t involve baking.
No Bake School Bus Cookies
You will need:
- Graham cracker
- Red Skittles for the lights
- Icing Writer
- Yellow Icing (make your own or add yellow food coloring to your white icing tub)
- tootsie roll for the tires or you can use raisins
Spread yellow icing on cookie and then make your lines.
Slice your tootsie roll thin and place at the bottom for the tires then add your lights before the icing dries.
Activity:
Ever since we received this toy, my 2 and 5 year old have been so excited to play it that they have been arguing about whose turn it is to play with the Learning Bus! Even my 8 year old wants to play but I think he just wants to play with it because it’s a new toy. I don’t blame them because this bus is loads of fun! My 2 year old loves the creative music play feature and tapping on the letters to hear their sounds. What better way for little ones to learn letter sounds and recognition.
Here’s a game where they all can enjoy the Learning Bus: Place Alphabet cards or magnetic or sponge letters on the floor. Then touch different letters on the Learning bus and have your child run and pick up the letter and bring it to you before you press the next letter. If they don’t know the letters yet let them see it before you press it. You can turn this into a race between 2 or just have them take turns.
Since it’s Touch Magic, it recognizes every touch, tap and swipe so it’s easy for my little guy to discover all of it’s functions. I especially liked that every part of its design is educational, the tires are drum pads the bottom of the bus is a key board, the animal passengers each have a part!
