Wishing away the 70 degree weather in hopes of the 40’s and 50’s to come I am reminded how short-lived my desires can be. My discontentment in the weather may be a picture of my dissatisfaction with life at times.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. ~ Galatians 5:22,23 NIV

Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. ~ James 4:14 NIV
Have you heard of the story of the boy who wished he could fast forward time? An old woman gave him a ball of string and every time he pulled it, he could make time go by faster. He was very impatient and pulled it often. Soon his life was gone and he was old. Many of his friends and loved ones had died and he realized what he had done. He couldn’t enjoy the moment because he kept thinking about what was going to happen next. He wished he could go back to when he was a boy before the woman gave him the magic string. That story reminds me to enjoy what I have right now because I know that even without a magic ball of string, life goes by Way Too Fast. Thanks for sharing at Mom’s Library!
