A couple of years ago, I had a ladybug Valentine’s Day party for our BOYS, yup ladybugs don’t have to only be associated with just girls. They loved it and it didn’t really seem to matter to them that it was ladybugs. They even got their craft on at the party and made some fun hearts.
I homeschool so I’m always thinking how are fun activities can have an added educational value. This would be perfect to make with the kiddos for their studies related to: Spring, insects, gardening…. This can even be a fun Spring Break snack activity to add to your day!
Fun & Healthy Snacks: Ladybugs
Apple Ladybugs – All you need is: apples, dates, chocolate morsels. Cut the apple in half. and to make it look like it has opened wings cut some of the middle off as seen in the image above. Add the dates to the narrow end and press in the morsels.
Strawberry Ladybugs – Dip the narrow end of the strawberry in chocolate and press in the chocolate morsels. I also cut a slit off the top of the ladybug to make it look like wings.
Ladybug Tomatoes – We needed some salty snack so I covered a ritz cracker with cream cheese and then placed a tomato on it. I sprinkled it with salt and pressed poppy seeds on the back.
You can hop on over here to see the whole party. Here’s a little peak of the Ladybug Party dessert table.
