I’m excited to bring you 31 Days of Leaning Into God In Our Motherhood a series on my blog that will encourage you on your parenting journey.
I was in 5th grade when I received my first “love letter”. It said, “I love you!” Meet me at the playground.” Love, B
If I walked around singing and exclaiming, “B loves me!” for months on end. Everyone would ask, “Who is B?” If I responded with, “I don’t know but he loves me and he thinks I am beautiful and precious.” You would think I’m ridiculous and wonder why in the world am I still haven’t found out who “B” is.
For the statement, “I love you!” to carry some weight and make a difference in our lives we need to know the author and giver of that love.
So often we do this with God.
Let’s counter balance the christian quotes and praise songs we apply to our wounded heart with scripture to see what it says about the Author and Giver of that unfailing love we sing about.
Get to Know Him
One of the things I have come to realize about myself is when I am going through a difficult time, when I am in the midst of pain, when mothering is overwhelming–I don’t need to a list of 20 reasons why I am great, an amazing mom or enough.
What I need in the smack dab middle of my sin, anger or pain is to remember what scripture says about my Heavenly Father. I need to recall who I belong to and in the very act of remembering who loves me, who God is I then walk away knowing who I am as His child.
The Haunting Question
There’s a question that has been haunting me for the past several years. In the midst of being a mother, serving Him on the mission field, washing dishes, counseling girls who were rescued from horrific situations, folding laundry, teaching women, listening to my children whine, making an international move, disobedient children, mentoring moms and when I’m annoyed with my husband. In the smack middle of horrendous car traffic, sin, worry, your child’s pain or disobedience and life as we know it God is asking,
“Who do you say I am?”
How would your day or circumstances play out differently TODAY if you believed who God says He is?”
So this month I’m going to share with you “Who Do You Say I Am? 31 Days of Leaning Into God in Our Motherhood” for my writing challenge called Write 31 Days.
Courage to Face Motherhood
Mothers lets lean into God through scripture and prayer! His Word is what gives us courage to face the day to day in mothering.
Will you join me TODAY, and the next 30 days as we take a step of faith in becoming brave moms by believing who God says He is in scripture?
Not letting our fears dictate our actions but our faith.
Not letting lies lead us but scripture.
Brave Moms, Strong Families!
In the 31 Days of Leaning Into God in Our Motherhood we will go through the following R.A.A.P.:
- Read. Dive into scripture and unfold what the passage reveals about His character in context.
- Ask. What is He inviting us to through these verses?
- Apply. How can we apply it to our motherhood, our lives?
- Pray. Pray scripture back to Him as we intercede for our children.
