One of the things I enjoy about being a parent is discovering my kids hidden talents. Some kids talents are on display for the world to see. You know the 4 year old who bust out playing Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata or the child who attends Harvard at the age of 11, those child prodigies amaze us.
But you know it’s also good to celebrate and enjoy all those talents you’re glad aren’t in display for the world to see, like burping to the tune of Jingle Bells. Well, maybe “celebrating” is too strong of a word let’s just stick to enjoy or acknowledge those types of “talents”. I know my brothers used to proudly share their weird body talent it was doing armpit sounds to different popular songs. I thought it was hilarious but my parents weren’t too amused especially when it happened at the dinner table. My sons “Giant Surprise” talent has nothing to do with numbers, music, memorization or burping.
The first time I saw my son do this he was 6 years old and we were at the dinner table. We were making silly faces at each other and then I hear my husband say “WHOA, do that again.” I look over at my oldest and I was seriously amazed.
Are you ready for this? Okay it starts with this:
He rolls his eyes up. And then he does this:
WHOA! Do you see it? One eye is straight and the other is crossed.
