I love, love, love–how this lantern from a sippy cup turned out. My little one used it for weeks after our camping trip. I’ve seen this done using plastic peanut butter jars but we didn’t have any so I had to get creative. That’s when I found some sippy cups that haven’t been used in ages.
Repurposed crafts are my favorite! This sippy cup used to have straps so you can carry it around which was perfect because that meant I didn’t have to drill holes into anything.
Lantern from a Sippy Cup
Supplies:
- sippy cup
- pipe cleaner
- candle (battery operated)
1. Tie the pipe cleaners around the sides of the sippy cup.
2. Place your batter operated candle inside, turn it on and put top back on.
It’s a great little craft for little ones not only because it’s repurposed but if he ruins it, didn’t cost much. If he drops it–shatter proof!
